Toddlers
After the baby’s first year, the world opens to a toddler and parents in a totally new way as the toddler develops his mobility and speech.
During the second year, a child slowly starts to detach himself from the parents and turn into an individual. The child grows and develops rapidly becoming an individual with a mind and opinions of his own. A toddler likes to explore his environment and picks up new things quickly. A child can be taken along to do everyday chores and give him an opportunity for play. A child needs a lot of love and care and to feel appreciated and loved the way he is. However, a child needs to learn also to tolerate disappointments to a certain degree in a safe environment.
A child’s environment and circle of life will expand once he starts day care. The number of new things and persons involved in his life multiplies and many things change at toddler stage. A small child is an avid learner and he should be encouraged to learn new things. Learning and doing requires time and patience from the parents, too.
