Exercise plays a significant role in the growth and development as well as general wellbeing and health of a primary school aged child. Physical exercise creates a foundation for all learning.
Exercise recommendations
Physical exercise is vitally important for a child’s wellbeing. Recommendation regarding exercise and activity was drawn up for Finnish school children. Enforcing the recommendations, everyday life runs more smoothly and the child is feeling better.
- As recommended, children and young people should have a minimum of 2 to 3 hours of varying physical exercise every day. Exercise can be split into shorter intervals throughout the day.
- Physical exercise boosts the child’s moods and helps to focus on the matter at hand.
- Workout during breaks helps to burn up some energy and focus better on the subject at hand.
- The family plays a very important part in all physical exercise of a primary school aged child.
