The first months of a baby’s life are a new experience for the mother and the whole family as well, especially in the case of a firstborn. Any family-life decision reflects also on the baby who requires unconditional care. After the birth, parents have to recognise their baby’s needs and respond to them to safeguard the baby’s proper development. The caregiver should focus on the baby and his or her signals. Thus the baby learns that he or she is recognised and important as individual with the needs and feelings he or she has. The most important thing is early interaction between the baby and the baby’s parents.
